Blast Proof Building Designed To House Arc Resistant Switchgear Lineup

Need & Challenge

A major petrochemical operator needed a 118ft long x 27ft wide blast proof construction building to house a very specialized 15KV-3000A-63KA arc resistant switchgear lineup.
Site constraints made manufacturing the building extremely challenging. W-Industries was tasked with providing a solution that could overcome these constraints without sacrificing integrity.

Solution & Outcome

W-Industries designed, fabricated and manufactured the building so that it was split in nine pieces to accommodate the site constraints. The structure was built to maintain blast proof integrity in the splits. As a result, the operator was able to power a new Olefins plant within the complex.
